This area is very safe. The retreat center is very private and our group will have exclusive access to the entire property.

While the Immortal Sisters Conference has the mission to support the legacy of female Taoist practitioners, this retreat is open to Immortal Siblings of all gender-identities.

No prior experience is required. All levels are welcome. Come as you are!

Book your flights to/from San Jose Costa Rica (SJO, not SJC which is San Jose, California!!!). We have private chartered transportation between San Jose and the retreat center. Pick up is at 11am on March 15th. We recommend that you fly in on the 14th and spend a night at the Adventure Inn or another nearby hotel. The return departs from our retreat center on March 21st at 9am. The ride takes about 4 hours. You may want to spend another night in San Jose before you fly home, to relax, integrate and break up the travel.

A detailed packing list will be sent to you after registration. TLDR version: Comfortable clothes for Qigong practice in warm weather, bathing suits, and beach/swim wear, robe/cover or sarong, sneakers or hiking shoes, sandals, journal (if you like). We will create a group altar, so feel free to bring anything for the altar, or as an offering to the fire.

We have worked closely with our retreat center to craft a menu of fresh, healthy meals for brunch and dinner. Animal protein will be available at 3 of the 6 dinners. All meals will have vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free options. Traditional Costa Rican food uses very little gluten. The primary grains are oats, corn and rice. If you have specific needs that are not covered here, please let us know ASAP and we will see what we can do.

Average temperatures range from 70 at night to 85 in the daytime. Rainfall is sparse, with averages of 2-3 inches per month in March.


Cancellation Policy: Refunds prior to February 15, 2027 will incur a $350 cancellation fee. After that, refunds will be made only if a replacement can be found. This policy is firm. We strongly recommend the purchase of adequate travel insurance.  

There is Wi-Fi at the facility. Cell phone reception is strong in most areas on the property. If needed, you could use your phone as a hotspot for using your laptop. Zoom and video calls have a tendency to be unstable. We encourage you to unplug as much as possible and take advantage of the opportunity to truly retreat in nature.
