Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is it safe where we’re going?

This area is very safe, in a region with one of the lowest crime rates in Mexico. The spa-like setting attracts nature-lovers and has a very respectful, family-friendly atmosphere.

  • Is this retreat for women only?

As the 3rd conference in the Immortal Sisters series, we are opening to our Immortal Siblings of all gender-identities. All people are welcome, and multiple attendees have expressed excitement about bringing their partners. Check out our special pricing for couples!

  • Do you have to be an experienced Qigong practitioner to attend?

No prior experience is required. All levels are welcome, come as you are!

  • How do we get there?

Mexico City is the closest airport. We have arranged for chartered buses which will bring you from Mexico City up the mountain on Monday and back down on Saturday. Transportation is $50 each way. The ride takes about 5 hours, with some additional time for bathroom-and stretch-your-legs breaks, plus a stop for snacks/lunch about halfway.

If you prefer to rent a car you can drive there on your own. Make sure you drive during daytime hours, as the last part of the drive is full of twists and turns! Please contact us if you are interested in doing this as it can be confusing.

Public transportation is not recommended as it requires multiple transfers and is very time-consuming.

  • What is the weather like?

This water wonderland is in the mountains, so the air is crisp and cool in the mornings, warms up during the day, and dips again at nighttime.

On average, it rains only 2 days (.95 inches) in the whole month of February. Average daytime temperatures are in the 70°s, evenings can go down into the 50°s, so pack a warm sweater and cozy pants! They will be on the packing list you will receive after you register.

The river and thermal baths range from 96-100° - body temp water that’s perfect to soak in for hours, day or night!

  • I don’t eat meat/spicy foods/gluten, can you accommodate my dietary needs?

We have hired a fantastic chef Natalia Luna (@mexicansalsas) to cook fresh, healthy meals for brunch and dinner. These will all have vegetarian options. Anything spicy will be labeled as such and not-spicy options will be available. Traditional Mexican food uses very little gluten, the primary grains are oats, corn and rice. If you have specific needs, please let us know ASAP and we will do our best to provide alternative options.

  • What do we need while we’re there?

A detailed packing list will be sent to you after registration.

TLDR version: Comfortable clothes, bathing suits, swim robe/cover or sarong, sneakers or hiking shoes, sandals, journal (if you like). We will create a group altar, so feel free to bring anything for the altar, or as an offering to the sacred waters.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation Policy: Refunds prior to January 20, 2023 will incur a $250 cancellation fee. After that, refunds will be made only if a replacement can be found. This policy is firm. We strongly recommend the purchase of adequate travel insurance.

  • Is there WIFI?

There is no Wi-Fi at the facility, it is truly a retreat in nature. Cell phone reception is strong in most areas on the property. If needed, you could use your phone as a hotspot for using your laptop. Zoom and video calls have a tendency to be unstable.
