Sharon Smith is a trailblazer in the Taoist healing arts, weaving 48 years of Qigong, Tai Chi, and spiritual cultivation into a rich tapestry of teaching, ritual, and devotion. One of Master Mantak Chia’s first Western students in 1981, she went on to become a certified Senior Instructor and Chi Nei Tsang Practitioner in his Universal Healing Tao. She also teaches Sheng Zhen Gong, the heart-opening practice of Master Li Junfeng.

Her journey has taken her from mountaintop temples in China to urban dojos in New York City, with deep studies in Iyengar yoga, Taoist alchemy, and martial arts. Sharon trained at Wudang’s Internal Kung Fu Academy and has studied with many masters—famous and hidden alike.

She is the Creatrix of The Immortal Sisters of the Tao Foundation, and the visionary behind the Immortal Sisters Conferences, historic gatherings honoring Yin wisdom and sacred feminine Taoist traditions. From 2020 to 2023, she served as both host and one of the most beloved presenters of The Shift Network’s Qigong Global Summits, sharing ancient wisdom with a worldwide audience.

Sharon has taught internationally and across the U.S. at institutions like Casa Tao, Tao Turkey, Omega, Kripalu, Tao Garden, and the NY Open Center. A passionate advocate for elders and healing in community, her work has earned foundation grants and national recognition.

Beyond the healing arts, Sharon is also an acclaimed photographer and filmmaker. Her book Camera Girl (2024) and documentary Saturn Saved Me (2015) showcase her creativity and gift for communicating the unseen.
